EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS
BLACK KIDS ACADEMY will spend time out in our community learning. We may go to a Museum, Visit a Waterpark, Visit a library, Eat at a restaurant, or do all the above on the same day. These off-site Educational Field Trips are to help them grasp concepts and enhance their learning experience. We believe that children learn best when they are actively engaged and concepts are presented in meaningful and creative ways.

Our rich and unparalleled Educational Field Trips connects the classroom to the real world and teaches our children problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Small classes and a project approach to teaching create a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. Here, our children are not simply memorizing facts and taking tests; knowledge is absorbed through hands-on, experiential learning. It is also a great way for them to explore their community while having fun with their friends.

Educational Field Trips may be a one time stop within the week or ongoing and may not always be pre-planned. Parents may or may not be notified of any outdoor excursions planned for the day beforehand if it is listed on the approved routine trips list. You may or may not receive an email, text, be tagged on a Facebook event, or Facebook Messenger when we are leaving and one when we return back to BLACK KIDS ACADEMY.
They may ride in the BLACK KIDS ACADEMY insured vehicle, with parents doing POSH/GOSH, on bikes, in a wagon, on skates, or by walking to it, etc. Such trips will be closely supervised. Safety is ​BLACK KIDS ACADEMY #1 concern when taking these trips and parents are granting general permission for their child(ren) to take routine trips that may or may not be preplanned. Parents understand that we are committed to the safe transportation of child(ren). We typically use car seats for those 4-5 years old who are 40 pounds or less and everyone else sits in a booster seat. At the age of 8, we do not use anything but seat belts and some 7-year-olds depending on weight and size. We frequent local libraries, parks, playgrounds, and sports places for exercise, as a valuable resource, and as an extension of our learning experience. The following places are also considered routine: Any gas station or surrounding restaurant where we may stop to eat.

Some Educational Field Trips will not require any additional fees while others may require additional fees and others may require no fees for your child(ren) but may be a fee for parents attending. Please check before signing up.
